Slammed by Apple for copying the iPad, Samsung has moved to go one up with their new Galaxy Tab with the release of a split screen model.Users will be able to view two programs at once in split screen mode; the downside is that battery life is much lower than the iPad.
The new 10.1″ Galaxy Tab will also have a stylus and several apps that allow users to use it for note-taking and sketching.
The Wall Street Journal claims that Samsung is betting on the stylus, which the company calls the S Pen, to attract users who find typing on glass to be limiting and might want, at least occasionally, to simulate pen and paper.
Just before his death Apple CEO Steve Jobs criticised the concept of a stylus with an iPad.
With its stylus and split-screen features, the Galaxy Note 10.1 may well give Samsung the boost it needs in the ever more competitive tablet wars the Wall Street Journal suggests.
