Froyo 2.2 is winging its way to the big screen.
Our spies have just spotted something very interesting – an Android 2.2 Froyo set top box powered by a 1Ghz Samsung CPU.
The box wonder gives digital TV, Internet TV, web access, music/picture player, IM and SMS apps and features LAN via WiFi on a large HDTV screen.
The nifty box also has 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal storage, (up to) 32GB of SD storage, and USB port for external hard drive.
The new device is “completely different to Google TV,” insists Android Unlimited, who are flogging the set top box which brings Android 2.2 Froyo to HDTV for $250.
The TV will also give you access to thousands of apps via Android Market, for more entertainment and games.
Other variations of this model have also been sighted with Amlogic 1GHz Coretex A9 CPU currently being made in China to be available in the near future.
