Stan has today announced a deal with Warner Bros., under which hundreds of hours of content will be delivered to the streaming service.The multi-year licensing agreement will see a range of programming featured on Stan, from first-run TV shows to movies, with the entire series of Friends, encompassing 10 seasons and 236 episodes, remastered in HD, also being brought to Stan.
New shows set to premiere on Stan in August include iZombie, Constantine and season 3 of The Following, starring Kevin Bacon, with iZombie season 2 to be fast-tracked to the service in October.
“Our partnership with Warner Bros. is the most significant since launch in terms of bringing outstanding, exclusive premiere shows and some of the most popular TV series of all time to Stan,” Nick Forward, Stan content and product director, commented.
“By adding hundreds of hours of new content to Stan’s line-up, the deal further cements our position as the SVOD service with the highest quality and largest library of content in Australia.”
Other shows set to premiere on Stan later in the year include Selfie and A to Z, with The Flash, The Last Ship, Hart of Dixie and Forever to also come to Stan as SVOD exclusives. The deal will also see The West Wing, The O.C., The Carrie Diaries, Fringe and Super Fun Night land on Stan.
