Steve Jobs has been put up for sale with both Apple lawyers and Steve Jobs family believed to be looking at taking legal action to stop the sale of a 12″ figure that depicts the former chief executive of Apple.
The plastic figure that includes Steve Jobs familiar black turtleneck and blue jeans will be available next month for $99, Jobs died late last year.
Lawyers for Apple are set to concentrate on stopping the sale of Apple like accessories made to scale for the figure which includes an iPhone 4 and a copy of the first Mac computer. Also included is a spare pair of glasses and extra hands – for gripping the prop accessories.

According to the UK Daily Mail a company called MIC Gadget offered a model of the Apple founder for sale early last year for $89, that product was blocked by Apple’s lawyers, who said at the time” “Mr Jobs has not consented to the use of his name and/or image in the Product. Unauthorised use of a person’s name and/or likeness constitutes a violation of California Civil Code Section 3344, which prohibits the use of any person’s name, photograph or likeness in a product without that person’s prior consent.”
It is not clear whether the same rules would apply now that Mr Jobs is dead.
As the Company is offering models of Apple products, complete with Apple logos, it’s believed Apple lawyers will contend that it is a breach of Apple Copyright.
