This little speaker kit from Hong Kong based Lars&Ivan, oozes style, produces decent sound, and comes with the surprisingly low price tag of $299.
The kit comprises of an audio amplifier driving two bookshelf-type loudspeakers, which claim a bass as low as 50Hz. Hooking up your MP3 is also easy as the amp plugs straight into the headphone jack of your player. And you aren’t just limited to hooking up your MP3 player, as you can also connect the system to anything with a headphone output, such as your computer, radio, walkman or CD player. You can sit your laptop or other device on the nifty little see-through bench provided on top of the amplifier.
“This kit produces very good quality sound, not over bassy and not over trebly. In terms of style, we are going after that simple, stylish Danish or Scandinavian design. Just look at the success of Ikea,” said Westan’s James Chen. (Westan is the Australian distributor of the product.)
