The ACCC have issued a recall for Sunbeam’s Sous Chef Stir Multi Cooker after it was found that the product fails to reach and maintain a temperature during the allotted cook time that is sufficient to fully cook a meal when in “slow-cooker” mode.
The ACCC has warned that consumers could be exposed to undercooked or not properly cooked meats without knowing it.
They advise that owners of the affected product should return the unit to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Once owners have received a store refund, they should contact the Sunbeam Consumer Services team on 1300 138 774 (Mon-Thurs 8.30am to 5pm AEST and Friday 9.30am to 5pm AEST) to receive a token of appreciation.
The MU3000 Sous Chef Stir Multi Cooker was sold through JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Harvey-Norman, MYER and Bing Lee.
Following the announcement of the recall, online listings for the appliance have been taken down.
