The recent Click Frenzy online shopping promotion may have been a disaster, but Australians are set to have the busiest online shopping day ever this Sunday, according to online commerce enablers eBay, PayPal and Australia Post.
PayPal predicts this week will turn out to have been the busiest online shopping week Australia has ever seen.
About 2.3 million Australians are expected to visit eBay.com.au on Sunday, a 26 percent increase over last year’s busiest online shopping day, newswire AAP reports. The company expects this will result in 300,000 items being sold on the day, a 17 per cent increase on December 11, 2011.
The online sales drive should also boost Australia Post’s activity. OzPost expects to deliver half a million more parcels across the country over the week.
