Avoid your Android being swiped with Bitdefender’s free app. And if it is nicked, you can now track it down.
Bitdefender has added two nifty new features to its ‘Mobile Security for Android BETA’ app.
The anti-theft function lets users to track down their Android mobile via live tracking, which pinpoints its location.
And save your data from thieves via remote wipe, making it useless for robbers to use.
SD card scanning will also protect smartphones against uploading malware and possible infection.
Cards will be checked when the user runs an “on-demand” scan, with any new cards automatically scanned upon insertion to the device.
All you need to do is ensure Android is hooked up to a Bitdefender account and its active for use.
And best of all the security app is free.
“The Android platform’s popularity with developers and users makes it a prime target both for thieves looking to steal devices, and for those wanting to exploit it through malware and scams,” says Alexandru Balan, Senior Product Manager at Bitdefender.
The new features “mitigate theft and complement our detection technology,” he added.
Bitdefender Mobile Security BETA also provides smart antivirus and web security for Androids and detects the latest threats using cloud scanning technology. And it won’t strain the battery, either.
BETA also provides information about billable services and applications’ requirements for access to Internet or private user data, “helping users make informed choices about their privacy and data security.”
