Nintendo has released version 4.0 update of its Switch console, adding several new features to its operating system.
Game Capture
The capture button located directly under the directional pads is now able to capture the last 30 seconds of gameplay. The capture button previously only allowed for screenshots, but now gamers just need to hold the button to begin capturing gameplay.
For now, the video capture feature is only available for a handful of titles: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, ARMS and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Data Transfer Between Consoles
Saved data and user information on Switch consoles can now be easily transferred wirelessly.
This means that users are now able to move their profiles over to a new console if they purchase a new console.
For more information on how to transfer, head over to Nintendo’s support page for a breakdown on what is required.
Pre-load And Pre-order Games Now Possible
This update now makes it possible for gamers to pre-order and pre-load titles from the Nintendo eShop. The pre-loading feature means that upcoming titles are able to be downloaded from the online store, but is unable to be accessed until the day of release.
New User Icons
A small update, but now users can assign gamer icons to appear alongside their profile.
To get the new update, just head over to the console’s settings and look for the “System Update” option, selected that and simply follow the instructions.
