Symantec Corp has introduced security and backup software for the newly available Windows Vista (for business) operating system.
The company says since Windows Vista does not include virus protection, enterprises should deploy an antivirus solution alongside Windows Vista to combat spyware/adware and viruses. Its solution is Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.2.
“Businesses deploying Windows Vista are offered new opportunities but are also faced with potential security, availability, performance, and compliance risks. Symantec uniquely provides businesses of all sizes best-of-breed, Windows Vista-compatible software that helps mitigate IT risk,” said Symantec’s Jeremy Burton.
Symantec’s Ghost Solution Suite 2.0, also now includes support for Windows Vista and Windows 64-bit. And for data protection, Symantec is offering Backup Exec for Windows Servers Desktop and Laptop Option and Backup Exec System Recovery Desktop Edition.
Microsoft’s Ben Fathi says “We are pleased with the global security partner support we have received on Windows Vista and that our customers will have great security and availability solutions from Symantec for Windows Vista.”
“Partners play a vital role in helping secure the Windows platform and Symantec has developed security technologies that will offer our customers a more secure computing experience on Windows Vista, Microsoft’s most secure operating system to-date,” he claims.
