Just days after Telstra announced iPad 2 for sale, Optus have retaliated, announcing its too will offer iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G models. Optus will offer Apple 9.7″ cult tablet “in the coming weeks along with a range of great value plans,” it said today, suggesting iPad 2 will be available before the holidays.
Until now, the telco stayed schtum on its Apple tab plans and whether it was planning to sell the device or not.
Telstra, who started selling iPad 2 just last week, are charging $720 outright (plus $30 Telstra Pre-Paid micro-SIM card) for 16GB model, $840 for 32GB model while the 16GB starts at $49 a month with 1GB data, all the way up to $99 for 15GB for individual users.
Telstra’s plans for shared business users, start at $45 with 8GB of data.

Until now, Australia’s two biggest telco operators did not stock the iPad 2 but by Christmas it looks like all three players including Vodafone will stock the tab, meaning more competitive pricing plans from all three could in the pipeline meaning more bang for your buck on tabs.
On Friday Optus also announced two new Android tablets adding to its line up – Dell’s 7 inch Streak and Acer Iconia A501 both running Honeycomb 3.2.
