UPDATED: Telstra is the first carrier in Australia to announce that they will sell the Wi Fi 3G enabled iPad in Australia.The iPad which lets users browse the web, read and send email, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games, read ebooks using iPad’s revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface.
The new device will run on Telstra’s Next G Network which is among the fastest 3G networks in the world.
No pricing was offically announced, however insiders are tipping that it could be a zero upfront deal spread over 24 months.
Currently Apple is developing applications to run on the iPad.
Shortly after the Telstra iPad announcement Vodafone and Hutchison Australia said that they will also sell an iPad package.
VHA will offer the 3G and Wi-Fi iPad to Vodafone and 3 Mobile customers with a range of dedicated price plans for all models of the touchscreen tablet.
Like Telstra, Vodaafone Hutchison is refusing to say what their pricing will be.
