BigPond Ultimate Cable is now one of the fastest broadband services available.
And it means an album can be downloaded in 2 minutes, a BigPond movie in one minute flat and upload 100 Facebook photos in just four.
But the bad news its the super fast broadband is confined to select areas in Melbourne only.
Consumer demand had prompted the introduction of the new standalone BigPond Ultimate Cable plans, which deliver “lightning fast speeds” says Telstra Consumer Executive Director, Ms Rebekah O’Flaherty.
The new service promises to allow “household members to share the same high speed broadband connection to surf the internet, play games online or download movies,” at the same time.
For customers with a Telstra fixed phone, BigPond Ultimate 50GB Liberty is $79 and 200GB is $99per month on a 12-month plan.
More than half of all households now feature four or more types of internet enabled devices – from wireless laptops to smartphones, the T-Hub, game consoles and internet TV PVRs including its T-Box, according to Telstra.
“The average Melbourne household has entered a new age of online connectivity,” O’Flaherty adds.
