Catering to the budget conscious ahead of the holiday season, Telstra has released its new Alcatel powered Essential 8-inch Tab for an affordable $129 outright.
The Essential 8″ Tab claims to be one of the first tablets to be powered by Android Oreo (Go edition), also boasting parental controls.
The device is suitable for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) school programs, especially for young students prone to playground roughhousing.
Positioned as an affordable and versatile family tablet, the Essential 8″ Tab is 4G capable, with a Quadcore chipset and Android Oreo (8.1) Go Edition.
Artificial intelligence image recognition app, Google Lens, is also pre-loaded – often a hit with young children and adults alike.
With a dedicated Family Made – made for kids – the tablet offers pre-loaded games, cartoons and books. Parental controls can also customise app accessibility and usage time.
For the health conscious, the tablet features a special Eye Care Mode, to reduce blue light and lessen eye strain.
