Physical damage to cables servicing the Telstra network knocked out internet and phone connectivity in Thredbo early Wednesday morning.
Telstra told customers that they “may experience difficulties” making and receiving calls on both mobiles and landlines as well as with connecting to the internet or mobile data services.
Logs show the outage started around 1.40 am on Wednesday 8th.
Telstra has provided satellite phones to the ski resort, as well as sending technicians to restore the services as soon as possible.
Regarding the outage, a Telstra spokesperson said “A Telstra cable has been damaged and that is disrupting mobile, fixed line and ADSL services at Thredbo,
“Our team of technicians is on site locating the damaged cables, assessing the damage and possible solutions.
“We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience and can assure them we are working as quickly as possible to restore services.”
