The CEO of Telstra has confirmed that Telstra will not sell or promote their Next G Network as an alternative to the NBN fibre network.
A clause in the NBN/Telstra contract prevents Telstra from selling their wireless network which has been billed as being one of the fastest in the world.
His confirmation of the clause was confirmed by Thodey during a conference call with analysts who questioned Thodey as to when Telstra will see payments from the NBN deal and what impact the payments will have on cashflow.
Thodey was also questioned about the margin difference between the payments and the loss of business that Telstra may incur as they migrate their customers to the NBN.
