Huawei WiFi hotspot has super fast speedsThe Advanced Pro X works on Telstra’s 4G 1800MHz network and supports download speeds of 2 Mbps – 50 Mbps in 4G areas.
It is kitted out with LTE Category 6 technology, so it can operate on two spectrum bands simultaneously.
Telstra’s Andrew Volard says testing of the Pro X on LTE-A capability (which supports max speeds of 300Mbps) points to faster speeds once the 700MHz spectrum comes into play in early 2015.
The WiFi hotspot connects up to 10 devices on the go and costs $57 on a monthly plan that includes 8GB of data. It also links to Telstra’s billing systems and allows customers to track their data usage against their monthly allowance.
The screen also displays signal strength, number of devices connected, battery levels and SMS notifications.
It boasts up to 10 hours of active battery life and users can ‘reverse charge’ a smartphone from the device.
