Huawei Australia who was black banned from the NBN roll out by the Labor Government and initally shunned by carriers in Australia has finally cracked a gig with Telstra with the carrier set to start selling the Chinese Companies Huawei Ascend P2 smartphone.
Launching exclusively with Telstra later this month, the Huawei Ascend P2 features a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and LTE Cat-4, providing an ultrafast web experience. The device which is only 8.4mm slim comes with a IPS HD touch display with second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass.
The P2 is a device that jumps the spec divide and is packed with high end smartphone technology and a price that won’t break the bank.
On the back, there is a camera and LED flash, along with a speaker grille. You can’t remove the back cover as is becoming common with smartphones like the HTC One.
Huawei claims that the Ascend P2 is the world’s fastest smartphone, citing its hi-silicon K3V2 and quad-core 1.5 GHz processor as evidence.
It boasts speeds of up to 150 mbps on a 4G network which should make for interesting testing on the Next G network.
We are not certain what operating system will run in the Telstra version however we suspect it will run 4.1 (Jelly Bean) of Google’s mobile operating system.
