Channel Ten’s ‘Tenplay’ platform has achieved record results that are double last year’s. The Commonwealth Games, Masterchef were major contributors.
Watching video from the Internet using tablets, smartphones, PCs, Macs and smart TVs is now firmly entrenched in everyone’s digital lives, with Network Ten’s Tenplay platform posting a record number of online video views, page views and unique visitors.
Propelled by the performances at the recent Commonwealth Games, which was streamed live and free of charge 24 hours a day via Tenplay, Network 10 has delivered its “best-ever weekly performance by Tenplay” while “easily outstripping its predecessor, www.ten.com.au, with Tenplay having launched in late September 2013”.
The free-to-air TV network has also reported “strong demand for catch-up viewing [which] saw Offspring receive 1.13 million video views last week”, with “MasterChef Australia receiving just under 1 million video views and season two of The Bachelor Australia clocking up 849,000 video views in just four days.” ?

Last week’s figures included 5.55 million video views, up 108% compared with the same week in 2013 and up 20% compared with the previous week this year.
They also included 13.73 million page views, up 248% compared with the same week in 2013 and up 29% compared with the previous week this year – a big jump.
Add to this a solid 1.34 million unique visitors, up 93% compared with the same week in 2013 and up 18% compared with the previous week this year – with Network 10 saying all data is sourced via Adobe Analytics.
Network Ten Chief Digital Officer, Rebekah Horne, said: “Tenplay has proved itself an industry-leading digital platform once again, offering Australians access to live Commonwealth Games coverage on the go. ?
“With more than 260 hours of action, excitement and drama from Glasgow, the consumer reaction to the Commonwealth Games on Tenplay has been incredible and has helped to deliver the platform’s highest video plays in one week since it launched on September 30 last year.
“Users now recognise Tenplay as one of the best entertainment digital platforms in Australia and we expect further growth in page and video views throughout the year,” Ms Horne concluded.
