Theory Audio Design, the latest venture from Pro Audio Technology founder Paul Hayes, has officially begun global shipping of its first seven products worldwide, which consists of three soundbars, two subwoofers, a multi-purpose loudspeaker, and an Amplified Loudspeaker Controller.
The crown jewel of the latest offering, the ALC-1809, 9-channel Amplified Loudspeaker Controller combines a 96-kHz/32-bit DSP processing engine, fan-less 1,800-watt multi-channel power amplifier, 8×8 matrix mixer, and 8×8 parametric bass manager, which features 80 EQ filters in a compact, rack-mountable 1U chassis with eight balanced analog outputs.
The Controller supports Dolby Atmos systems with up to 5.2.2 or 7.2 channels and automatically configures itself, setting audio levels, delays, bass management, and signal routing for the chosen speaker layout.
It also comes with additional features such as intelligent power limiting, adjustable gain and delay, automatic signal ‘ducking’ for voice-controlled systems, and built-in system diagnosis and calibration.
As for the three high-output soundbars (sb65, sb75 and sb85), they were designed to accompany 65-inch, 75-inch and 85-inch flat-panel TVs, while the sub12 and sub15 passive subwoofer models consist of 12-inch and 15-inch drivers.
According to the company, they plan to offer a white finish option for all speaker models sometime in late 2020.
