Samsung’s 8K TV range was launched on April 1, 32 days later retailers are slashing the price of the top end range with one model dropped $3,000.
When this top end range was launched at the SCG in Sydney the recommended retail price of the 82” Samsung Q900 was $17,499, now JB Hi Fi and The Good Guys have slashed the price to just $14,499 a saving of $3,000.

According to Harvey Norman staff the new 8K TV’s are proving to be popular with consumers “Interested in the quality difference” one store manager said.
He added “Most people who have viewed them have ended up buying a Q90 4K UHD TV they said.
During a recent shoot-out between the Samsung Q900 75” 8K TV and the Q90 75” ChannelNews saw a distinct difference between the two models.
For consumers the big question is whether the difference is worth the thousands of extra dollars they will have to fork out for an 8K TV.
At this stage Samsung has not commented on the price cut.
