The next instalment of the successful golf video game series Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 has been revealed by publisher Electronic Arts. The game will be available for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PSP by “winter”, the company says.
In the new game, Tiger Woods will get coaching from his personal coach Hank Haney, and promises a more intuitive and customised GamerNet experience and online play.
“Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09 is the most authentic golf video game on the market, and we’re excited to bring an immersive experience to the masses,” said Executive Producer Mike Taramykin. “Our partnership with Hank Haney provides fans immediate coaching from one of the top minds in golf. This year’s game brings unprecedented levels of customization and control, allowing seasoned vets and first time players ‘inside the ropes’ of TOUR golf.”
Haney will assist gamers as they hit the links, and provide feedback after each round. EA says in the new game a player’s skill level is dynamic, constantly adjusting throughout the round just as it would during a real afternoon out on the links.
The improved GamerNet now sports an easy-to-use interface, says EA, and provides personal challenges and daily leaderboards. A new feature of online play is Simultaneous Play which allows up to four players to play each hole at the same time – making the game faster to play.
