Tom Tom has released the latest version of its App for iPhone which is said to include the newest map of Australia and the company’s Map Share technology.
Version 1.6 of the Tom Top App, which is available from the App Store, can be used by iPhone owners to make changes to their own maps. Users also get free Tom Tom verified map updates, as well as the ability to edit street names, set driving directions and block and unblock streets directly on their maps.
Verified map updates include turn restrictions, speed limit changes and crossing changes which are said to be updated every week or on demand by drivers, souced from the most accurate, available map, claims Tom Tom.
“We are pleased to bring TomTom’s exclusive Map Share technology, which is already enjoyed by millions of TomTom users every day, to our iPhone App,” said Chris Kearney, Vice President Marketing, TomTom Asia Pacific. “With the addition of Map Share, TomTom App users will get free, verified updates via Map Share anytime. That’s on top of having the most accurate map available on-board.”
Current owners of the Tom Tom App can also update to the new version free of charge, while new users can benefit from an App Store promotion to purchase the updated App for iPhone at $84.99.
