Yesterday it was revealed that Toshiba just filed a trademark application for the name “Thrive.” The application describes the goods and services being trademarked as a tablet computer.
Toshiba, who is believed to be planning a major marketing campaign for the tablet which is set to go head to head with the new 10.1 Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Motorola Xoom, has also registered “Thrive” variations including ToshibaThrive.com, ThriveTablet.com, ThriveToshiba.com and TabletThrive.com. It also appears that the names have been registered as .com.au names in Australia.
