Toshiba has finally revealed their new Folio 100, 10.1in tablet device which is capable of playing back 1080p content. It also has as we tipped an HDMI slot which makes it ideal for plugging into the side of a TV.
Toshiba has finally revealed their new Folio 100, 10.1in tablet device which is capable of playing back 1080p content. It also has as we tipped an HDMI slot which makes it ideal for plugging into the side of a TV.
The device which was shown overnight at the IFA Show in Europe has the much vaunted Nvidia Tegra 2 platform. It also delivers 7 hours of battery life. The screen has a resolution of 1,024 x 600, uses LCD technology, and is multi-touch as well. It also has a 1.3 megapixel webcam and features all the usual connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G. Like Samsung’s Tab, it will run Android 2.2 but will also include a load of custom Toshiba software additions.
The device which will go on sale in Australia before Xmas is expected to sell for around $799.
Unlike the iPad, there are lots of ports including a full-sized USB 2.0 and a mini version, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an SD card reader. The whole thing weighs just 760g and measures 281 x 181 x 14 mm;
Toshiba has also announced a charging dock which also has HDMI outputs.
