During a demonstration at the World Mobile Congress In Barcelona Toshiba achieved download speeds of up to 16Mbps.
According to Toshiba LTE can technically provide peak download speeds of up to 100Mbps. In Australia it is rumoured that Optus is working on the potential roll out of a 4G network by late 2011.
The new notebook had a 13.3-inch display screen which delivered 1366×768 resolution, a Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR module and integrated Wi-Fi.
Available processors include four different Intel Pentium ULV chips, all rated at the same 1.3GHz clock speeds. RAM can be optioned up to 8GB, while hard drive sizes peak at 500GB. Its six-cell battery is rated at 11 hours of operation, and the system weighs less than 4lbs.
Samsung also recently showed off the first netbook with an integrated LTE chip, with its 10-inch N150.
Despite the sneak peek, Toshiba has not revealed pricing or shipping dates for the Satellite T130 with the embedded LTE communications.
