The new Toshiba SmartPad tablet alluded to by Toshiba Australia Managing Director, Mark Whittard, will go on sale prior to Xmas. Running on the Google Android operating system, it will have a 10-inch screen and NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 graphics platform.
At a recent media launch in Sydney, Whittard showed a version of the new tablet which will also have a front-facing webcam for video calls as well as an HDMI slot and both regular and mini USB ports.

The new SmartPad will be shown next week in Europe at the IFA 2010 show in Berlin, early photographs of the device reveal four touch buttons and an LED battery life indicator.
