Australian betting giant Tabcorp has inked IPTV connectivity deals with Akamai and Kit Digital in a bid to boost its media and integrated betting applications globally.
Tabcorp COO Brendan Parnell told The Register Web site that Sky Racing had been working closely with the video streaming vendors to extend facilities for international and domestic video distribution.
The Kit Digital deal will include establishment of a Sydney data point-of-presence, which Kit is shifting from Dallas, where Tabcorp’s data is currently housed. Subject to approval, Tabcorp is also planning to launch an IPTV betting app with Samsung connected-TVs by mid year.
– Kit Digital, a US video technology and services company, last week inked a US$14 million cash-and-shares deal to acquire Hyro, a Melbourne-based online and mobile systems integration company.
