Nowadays Twitter is being used for real time news updates, with the 140 character memos being handled by its former anarchic interface. To organise the chaos, Twitter will categorise its contents into four dominating tabs, including home, connect, discover and me.
Twitters co-leader, Jack Dorsey, said the design will help recruit new members to Twitter. Social networkers fluent in Twitter use the ‘@’ and ‘#’ symbols as shortcuts, but less frequent users aren’t familiar with their Twitter meaning.
“Twitter should be usable for people who know the shortcuts and also equally usable for those who don’t,” Mr Dorsey said.
The traditional formatting of throwing additional content to the side of tweets has been scrapped for a more natural in-line approach, surrounding tweets with relevant information.
Another significant change is the launch of branding pages, which will streamline advertiser communications with Twitter users. The introduction of branding pages could see advertisers usurped from Facebook.

The new Twitter format is currently being rolled out onto Android and iOS mobile devices. As you’d expect, it inherits the new organisational structure destined for computers and facilitates a seamless user experience between the two.
