Developed in collaboration with sporting brand Under Armor, JBL is readying two new sports-focused Bluetooth headphones for launch in the Australian market.
The new range’s flagship offering, the UA Headphones Wireless Heart Rate, promises to pair JBL’s signature sound with Under Armour’s pedigree for performance.
The key feature of the device is its comprehensive heart-rate tracking, which can be summoned with the press of a button and comes integrated with Under Armour’s health and fitness platform UA Record.
The company say the headphones constantly stream heart rate data to keep athletes in sync with their fitness goals.
“Today’s consumers demand the best in sport equipment. The UA Headphones Wireless Heart Rate and UA Headphones Wireless exceed those demands, providing seamless connectivity, impressive ergonomics and, as always, a powerful acoustic experience from JBL,” says President of Harman’s Lifestyle Audio Division Michael Mauser.
The regular UnderArmor Headphones Wireless drops the heart rate functionality but comes in at a more-competitive pricepoint.
Both models come with an IPX5 rating for sweat-resistance and JBL’s “TwistLock” and “FlexSoft” technologies, which the company says will keep the headphones from falling out or becoming a burden over longer periods of usee.
Purchasers of either headphones will also receive a complimentary 12-month MapMyFitness Premium subscription, valued at $29.99.
The UA Headphones Wireless Heart Rate will retail for $369, the regular UA Headphones Wireless will arrive at $229.
Both will be available exclusively through JB Hi-Fi from today.
