Uniden, has announced its first in-car navigation system, the GNS 8600 delivering nationwide coverage with visual and audible navigation to any street, suburb or point of interest.
The GPS equipped unit is programmed with half a million key sites, including restaurants, shopping centres, banks and post offices.

The GNS 8600 screen uses touch sensitive technology backed up by joystick navigation for fast programming. It also uses what Uniden terms Intuitive Technology. Predictive text reduces search time and the device can be customised according to the user’s application.
A 256MB memory storage capacity allows the user to store additional personal locations.
The GNS 8600 is available nationally from leading electrical retailers for $1,599 rrp. This includes 12 months of free software and camera uploads available from the Uniden website.
