UPDATED: Telstra BigPond users on Sydney’s North Shore who have been left without internet access for more than 12 hours are now being told that it could be another 12 hours before the service problem is resolved.
The service that went down late yesterday afternoon was still not available by 6.45am Wednesday.
Calls to Telstra’s BigPond technical support hotline last night were told that the restoration of the service could take “hours”. “At this stage we are estimating a restoration of the network by 8.00am” a technical support operator said.
Also down was the ability to tether from a Telstra mobile phone.
Telstra have not responded officially. This story was filed tethered to the Vodafone network using an HTC phone.
In a later update Telstra technical support said the service will not be restored till 8.00pm Wednesday night. No explanation has been given
