Virgin Mobile to Samsung Note 3, but no smartwatchVirgin opened web pre-orders for Samsung Note 3 yesterday, which will be on sale from 03 October.
However, the telco will not be selling 1.6″ Galaxy Gear – Samsung’s first stab at a smartwatch, and a companion device to Note 3, launched last week in Sydney.
Samsung’s Note 3 ‘phablet’ has a 5.7″ Super AMOLED screen, quad-core processor, 32GB storage (expandable), 13MP camera.
“Virgin Mobile will not be selling Galaxy Gear at this stage…but maybe down the track”, a spokesperson told CN. No reason was given.

The Gear smartwatch takes calls, texts, apps including health, and a 1.9MP camera, and will soon work with Galaxy S3 and S4.
Vodafone are bundling the two Galaxy’s together for $80, since on its own Gear can be a pricey affair, costing $369.
Virgin are saying their best plan for Note 3 is $90 (+2 fee) with unlimited calls, text within OZ and 3GB data.
This appears to be one of the better value plans – for the amount of data – Optus’ equivalent has 2GB data and a cap on call minutes.
Voda $80 Red plan has just 1.5GB data but is bundled with Gear.
Virgin, know for their ‘Fair Go” motto also have $40, $50 and $60 plans.
