Vodafone Australia claims it is delivering the “nation’s largest data allowance for smartphones” via a new “Red” plan for heavy Internet users – but they will have to pay $130 a month for two years for the privilege.
The deal will see them ante up a total of at least $3120 over the 24 months. The outlay includes an unidentified “brand new premium smartphone” – and Voda warns that the “device cost may be additional”.
Among other things, users will score 15GB of data, upgraded to 20GB if they sign-up before November 3; unlimited standard national calls and text; and unlimited standard international calls to 10 selected destinations.
“Our new $130 Red plan is especially built to keep pace with our highest data-using customers who are inseparable from their smartphones,” said Vodafone products GM Stephen Smyth.
