Vodafone is planning to roll out 70 base stations under the first round of the new mobile blackspot program. The base stations will be built in regional areas of NSW, Tasmania, Queensland, WA and Victoria.“We believe the Mobile Black Spot Program is a
great way to encourage competition and choice of mobile provider, which is
something many people living in regional and rural areas have never
experienced,” Vodafone chief strategy officer Dan Lloyd commented.
The first location at White Rock Mountain, west of Glen Innes in New South
Wales was switched on in December 2015. All 70 sites should be completed by the
end of 2017, Lloyd said.
