Vodafone has released a new service that allows businesses to ‘ditch’ their landline connection without killing off the associated number. Instead, the number will remain active by routing calls directly to a nominated mobile number.
Businesses also have the option of choosing a new landline number to accommodate future growth.
“Some of our customers’ clients just feel more comfortable calling a business on a landline, rather than a mobile or 1300 number,” said Andy Malakooti, Head of Business Products at Vodafone.
“Vodafone Unite offers our customers untimed, unlimited inbound calls from their office number to their nominated mobile number, while their clients pay their standard landline rate.
“Vodafone Unite is perfect for sole traders and small businesses who may already have a landline number that still catches inbound calls such as real estate agents, tradies, mortgage brokers and all types of sales people who are frequently out of the office,” added Malakooti.
Vodafone Unite can also substitute a fixed office landline, with some mobile desk phones compatible with the service. Businesses will receive the same advantages as a fixed line connection, although with the flexibility of moving the phone wherever they wish in the office, and without having to disconnect/reconnect the service if they relocate.
People calling the landline number are charged the same rate as calling a landline and businesses subscribed to the service will also receive one voicemail inbox for their office-based landline and mobile phone.
Vodafone Unit will cost business customers $28 per month over a minimum period of 12 months, in addition to an existing business cap or business infinite plan.
