LG have announced availability, pricing and more for their top of the line OLED TV.
Called the Signature OLED W7, the 65-inch TV will arrive
for Australian customers in April. It’ll measure a scant 4mm in
thickness and offer up gains of 26% in brightness versus the previous
Signature OLED.
Like last year’s offering, it’ll promise to combine LG’s
award-winning display technology with the Dolby Vision and Dolby
Atmosphere integration necessary to produce what they argue is the best
home entertainment experience possible.
To make better use of that functionality, LG are throwing
in a SJ9 soundbar with every W7. The SJ9 promises “the illusion of a
surround sound effect without a subwoofer” and can even upscale music to
24-bit audio.
“Thanks to our global partnerships, like Dolby, we have
integrated technologies in our TVs that have made an impact on Hollywood
content for decades and are now available to view at home,” said Angus
Jones, General Manager of Marketing for LG Australia.
Jones says that “ultimately, you will not need to venture
to the cinema when you can enjoy a premium cinematic experience in your
home.”
In a presentation to journalists, LG spokespeople
emphasized that the TV doesn’t just excel on a technical level but also
on a design one. They highlights the improvements made in the new
WebOS3.5, as well as the Magic Remote – which now feature both a Netflix
and Amazon Prime button.
The 65-inch W7 will arrive in April at an RRP of $13,499.
