TPG Telecom boss David Teoh has pledged he will maintain iiNet’s customer-centric culture if he is successful in his proposed $1.4 billion purchase of the ISP.
In his first comments to the media since announcing the bid for iiNet just 12 days ago, Teoh has sought to allay investor and customer concern that TPG would destroy iiNet’s premium brand by cutting costs.
“We will keep the iiNet brand, because it is very strong in the marketplace. They have highly skilled and highly talented staff who have built the iiNet branding, so it is also very important for us to keep them,” Teoh told The Australian.
“We don’t want to wreck that culture. We are here to build a strong business and learn from iiNet. They have very strong customer service and we have a very fast-growing business and so we both can learn from that and complement each other.”
