AFL Live: Telstra has launched a gaming offensive against rival Optus – launching an ‘AFL Live’ website promising live games streaming.

Telstra’s AFL Live mobile site’ and ‘AFL Live Official App’ offers live score updates, game radio and highlights for its Next G and 4G mobile customers.
Recently bruised after a legal defeat which saw the Federal Court allow Optus TVNow, which replays free-to-air content including AFL and NRL games just minutes after live broadcast that Telstra paid millions for ‘exclusive’ right to, to stay in play.
However, Telstra have made a comeback and are tackling Optus hard on pricing: offering AFL Live Monthly Pass for $10 per month with LIVE streaming of every AFL match, full match replays on demand, and AFL TV channel.
Optus TVNow $10 offers 20 hours of recording time – which would hold about 5 games only, which over a month is fairly slim.
And for $50 Telstra are offering an AFL Season Pass giving full coverage plus and Brownlow medal and finals series.
The telco is even flogging the first month free on the monthly pass.
But if you just want one game you can get it for $5. And best of all the content unmetered meaning you can watch The Cats and Co score over and over.
Telstra’s new Aussie rules live app is free to download gives live score updates, match radio broadcasts, team lists and player profiles, post game previews all free and unmetered for 4G and Next G.
The app for AFL junkies is available for its customers from the start of the 2012 AFL Premiership season in the app store and charges may apply when downloading the app, however.
Telstra have also launched an AFL for its T-Box and Foxtel customers.
T-Box users can access to BigPond AFL TV channel with unmetered and AFL on Foxtel on T-Box offering all the games live in every round for $49.50 per month and you get 16 other channels.
Foxtel from Telstra package at $77 per month for the first 6 months (then $92 for the remaining 6) gives you 6 months free access to Sports including Fox Footy or Movies, plus free installation and an AFL season pass to AFL Live on your Telstra tablet or mobile.
