John Winning named ‘Retail Executive’ of the Year by CEO Magazine
John Winning, CEO of the Winning Group, has been named CEO Magazine’s 2013 Retail Executive of the Year.
This is the second award the 29-year old has picked up at CEO Magazine, having taken the ‘Young Executive of the Year’ award in 2012.
Retailers who continue to push boundaries and provide an innovative shopping experience will thrive, Winning said at the awards ceremony held at Sydney’s Doltone House, last week.
“There’s no denying Australian retailers have been faced with tough trading conditions in recent years.”
“However despite this, the Winning Group has continued to innovate and provide exceptional customer service both online and in-store.”
In the last financial year, the Winning Group recorded sales in excess of $350 million with 25% year-on-year growth – its biggest year on record.
“I am extremely proud of the companies and the staff that work for our businesses and together we have pioneered the way for new retail experiences in Australia,” he said.
The retail group incorporates bricks and mortar retailer Winning Appliances, online retailers Appliances Online and Big Brown Box, and national installation company Handy Crew.
