Ultra HD TV’s, or as some say 4K TV’s, deliver a higher resolution display technology and while there is limited content right now, UHD technology is all about future proofing your TV purchase.

On average, Australians change their main viewing TV every five years so what you buy now will have to last you another five years and that means investing in Ultra HD TV technology and new Smart TV technology.

LG recently unveiled a new line up of new Ultra High Definition TV’s that include the processing power necessary to achieve the 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160).

The technology behind the improved display performance is an LG proprietary chip that works in conjunction with the image processor to produce ultra clear ultra real images. LG’s newest ULTRA HD TVs have the ability to upscale standard HD and Full HD content to near 4K quality and if Ultra High Definition content is available from a source, then you can run it natively.

The new LG Ultra HD TVs are complemented by forward-facing multi-channel sound systems designed in collaboration with ‘harman kardon’, a leading US sound Company.

4K Ultra HD TVs deliver four times the picture definition of 1080p Full HD, that’s approximately eight million pixels compared to two million pixels.

What that means in terms of potential image clarity is more fine detail, greater texture and an almost photographic emulsion of smoothness.

Photographers who routinely view their work on a HD TV are seeing but a fraction of the detail inherent in their pictures when they view them at 2160p. A 4K Ultra HD display reveals so much more nuance and detail and the difference can be astonishing.

Currently Hollywood studios are shooting movies in 4K Ultra High Definition.

The higher pixel density of a 4K Ultra HD panel also enables you get much closer without the grid-like structure of the image itself becoming visible – this means you can comfortably watch a much larger screen from the same seating position as your current Full HD panel.

4K Ultra HD TVs are available in a range of sizes and include 50-inches plus screen sizes.
