AS the Christmas buying season approaches where can you dump old tellys or Hi-Fi?
TechCollect Program has hit Randwick City Council Recycling Centre in Matraville, NSW, as part of Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform (ANZRP).
The TechCollect Program is a free service where the general public and small businesses can drop-off their unwanted televisions and computers for recycling.
Randwick Council is TechCollect’s first permanent New South Wales service and the fifth service in the state to date.
TechCollect has 14 collection services across Australia and says it is on track to deliver at least 124 services nationally by 31 December 2013.
TechCollect delivers on ANZRP’s vision of creating a community which collects, processes and safely recycles electronic waste for responsible environmental outcomes.
Mark Mackay, Chairman of ANZRP said, ‘We are serious about product stewardship, the environmental outcomes of recycling end of life TVs and computers and the health and safety of the people involved in the processing of e-waste are integral to the success of the scheme.
“Our program is based on sound practices and standards and experienced operators; it results in the capture of finite resources for reuse and diverts product from landfill’
Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform Limited (ANZRP) is an industry funded and run body established recycle electronic waste on behalf of its members under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme.
