Whirlpool Australia has expanded its kitchen portfolio, launching its first 4 door fridge – the new 677L French Door Refrigerator Freezer (WQ709005XX) for A$2,799.
Launching in time for Christmas, the product claims to incorporate several energy and cost saving measures.
According to Australia’s National Food Waste Assessment, the average household throws out 345kg of food annually (~$8 billion worth). During the holiday season, Australians reportedly spend ~$10 billion on food, with 35% sent to landfill.
Brand Ambassador, Scott Gooding, asserts the new fridge freezer significantly extends food freshness.
The new French Door Fridge Freezer harnesses Whirlpool’s patented 6th Sense technology, to ensure consistent temperature control.
Once temperature changes are detected, the fridge automatically optimises settings to better preserve food.
6th Sense Freeze Lock also claims to minimise freezer temperature changes, improving food freshness and reducing freezer burn.
Whirlpool’s new fridge freezer incorporates FastFreeze and FlexiFree compartments – the first allowing users to speed up freezing via the touch of button, and the later offering variable temperature (e.g. 7°C, -12°C and -18°C).
For the busy family, the fridge offers a special ‘Holiday Mode’, consuming less power than normal.
