Why is Motorola making Australians wait for Android software upgrades?
While Australians were being offered a 3.1 Android update for the Motorola Xoom earlier this month US owners were getting a 3.2 update.
Motorola Australia has not announced when its Honeycomb-running tablet, the Motorola Xoom, will get the Android 3.2 update in Australia which will be relatively minor compared to the 3.1 release that Xoom owners were treated to earlier this month.
New features include a number of unspecified “optimisations”, pixel-scaled zoom for fixed-size apps intended for smaller screens and the ability to sync media from an SD card.
Motorola Australia has not explained why Australia is forced to wait for Android upgrades, which could change after Google slapped down $12B to buy Motorola Mobility.
