An online porn study has exposed some startling facts about human behaviour including an overwhelming interest in cheating wives, a significant interest in women in their 40s, 50s and 60s and bestiality and granny porn.
According to computational neuroscientists Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam, who published a book on Internet pornography habits, the internet is allowing certain groups to “explore their sexuality in safety and privacy and discover that many others share the same sexual interests that they do”.
After analysing more than 400 million online searches for porn, the research revealed some startling findings about what people are looking for. For example, just 20 sexual interests account for 80 percent of all porn on the Internet.
And the top five sexual interests are youth, gays, sexy mothers, breasts and cheating wives, according to Time.com.
But contrary to popular belief, there is little evidence to suggest that porn is addictive. “There isn’t overwhelming evidence that porn addiction exist”, says Ogas.
“We looked at individual search histories for half a million people using an AOL data set [which does not identify the users]. It seems to be less than 2 percent of people, among the people who search for porn, who have a significantly elevated number of searches.”
“And there’s a [shared] characteristic among these searchers: they search for a really wide variety of porn, which is atypical. Usually, people search for the same things over and over. But these people who search for notably more porn tend to search for [many different things],” said Ogas.
The study also revealed insights into women’s porn searches, identifying that they generally prefer erotic stories of men sharing their tender side and being intimate with other males.
Male preferences showed up for overweight women rather than underweight women, and they also showed significant sexual interest in older women including those in their 40s, 50s and 60s.
