Nintendo and AMD are celebrating as it has today shipped its 50 millionth Wii console.

The Wii console uses ATI’s ‘Hollywood’ graphics processor – a custom graphics processing unit from AMD that enables Nintendo to provide a different style of game play and interaction for consumers around the world.
AMD’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Graphics Products Group, Rick Bergman said, “We congratulate Nintendo on this major milestone for its popular Wii console.
