The new Samsung Galaxy S3 which is tipped to ship in Australia in the second quarter of 20012 is set to get 3D built in as an option some sources claim.
SmartHouse is not convinced as to the benefits of 3D in a smartphone.
In 2011 only two smartphones had 3D capability including the HTC Evo 3D and the LG Optimus 3D and both struggled to sell.
The rumour sourced back to IBTimes, which is reporting that there will be two versions of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3, one without 3D and one with.
The 3D version of the smartphone is said to have a glasses-free display (likely to be between 4.2- and 4.65-inches) and will be able to capture 3D video thanks to dual rear cameras.
The new phone is tipped to be announced at the World Mobile Congress in Europe in February.
