Rumours are flying that Microsoft plans to spoil the scheduled March launch of the PlayStation 3 by bringing a black Xbox 360 console onto the market at the same time.

A source from the Myer group claims that Microsoft’s black 360 will be a 120GB hard drive model with HDMI and will retail for $749, which is $250 less than the PS3.
However it may not all be smooth sailing for fans of the 360 who want the console in black. Tech website TweakTown is reporting that a black 360 console was just spotted at the Taipei Game Show in Taiwan, giving credence to the rumours of its existence.
However the model seen there did not appear to have an HDMI port or any extended storage capacity from the HDD.
