In what could be bad news for Nokia sales, Microsoft’s next Windows Phone update,Tango appears to have slipped with the US software Company tipping a late 2012 launch as opposed to a Feurary launch at the World Mobile Congress in Europe.
Microsoft is believed to have delayed the launch so that several new high end features can be built into the device with one Microsoft insider telling SmartHouse that the Company is targeting the Blackberry enterprise market as opposed to the Apple iPhone market.
In an interview with the UK TechRadar back in October, Niklas Savander, executive VP of Markets for Nokia, hinted that when the Tango versions are released users will see the “real” power of Nokia and a Windows Phone.
“We made the decision to go to Windows Phone when Mango was pretty much done, so we were able to impact some elements of it but you’ll really see the fruits of what we can do with Microsoft when the Apollo version of Windows Phone comes out,” he explained.
