JBL has introduced its On Air Control 2.4G wireless loudspeaker system, a two-way loudspeaker that incorporates a wireless transceiver and amplifier, and a transmitter/receiver module.

The JBL On Air Control 2.4G transmitter/receiver module connects to an audio/video receiver via its RCA audio jacks, and includes a 3.5mm mini-jack adapter for connection to the stereo audio output of a laptop or desktop computer or a portable audio device. It utilizes the 2.4GHz frequency range and claims to have an operating distance of up to 25m (70 feet). In addition, the transmitter/receiver module can be used with up to two pairs of JBL On Air speakers.
The active speaker includes a mini-jack input for connection to a second local audio source, and a subwoofer output that enables the speakers to be used as part of a 2.1-channel satellite/subwoofer audio system. The JBL On Air Control 2.4G is supplied with a remote control with volume, input selection and mute functions.
Available in a black finish, the magnetically shielded speakers feature a 13mm (1/2-inch) titanium laminate dome tweeter, a 100mm (4-inch) high-excursion woofer and 30 watts of built-in amplification. The speakers are also supplied with wall-mount brackets.
The JBL On Air Control 2.4G wireless loudspeaker system is available now at a suggested retail price of $599.
